Well folks, there is no need for me to be dreaming of a white christmas this year. Here in Stockholm we've got plenty of snow! Instead, I am dreaming of a wood burning fireplace. Here are a few that I wouldn't mind snuggling up and getting cozy in front of.

So, as I am now in the great north getting totally inspired by the beauty and simplicity of Scandinavian design, there will no doubt be a few Scandi inspired updates to come. Today however I would like to share with you an apartment a little closer to "home". This New York apartment of Susan and William Brinson has had me drooling for a while now.

Some of the greatest years of my adult life were spent in this bondi beach cottage. What made this place so special for me were the many friends who I was able to enjoy the space with throughout the years. We had an open door policy and the house (more specifically the front porch) was always full of good people having great conversations, sharing delicious food and many, many bottles of wine.
This beautiful photo shoot was done by friend and fashion designer Shona Joy for her winter 2012 collection.

It seems only fair that my first post be in honour of the legend himself, Mr Frank Lloyd Wright. Also because of the fact that this is one of my favourite buildings on the planet and the only building to actually move me to tears the first time I stood in its atrium. Yes, perhaps a little dramatic but if you've ever stood there you no doubt have had a strong reaction too. I've always had an interest in how we interact with our environments and, being an interior designer, even more so our built environments. Frankie created an awe inspiring aesthetic so seamlessly designed that its solid structure actually leads people through it and allows its guests to experience its visual beauty and interest while using and interacting with the space. What a stunner!
